Formerly known as NASSMAC, Cowbellpedia has undergone several improvements and upgrades, including the introduction of a TV quiz Show, which has helped to make the competition more accessible and engaging for students and viewers.  The annual quiz competition project is the search for excellent students across different Nigeria Schools. The students will emerge from a transparent, credible and thorough Competition across schools (public and private).

Synopsis

The competition strives to foster excellence among secondary school students in Nigeria, promoting healthy competition among the country's bright minds. Participants have the exciting opportunity to win substantial prizes and scholarships, including Cowbell products, totaling up to an impressive 100 million Naira. These prizes underscore the brand's commitment to rewarding academic excellence among intelligent students. Even viewers at home can actively participate and stand a chance to win fantastic gifts during the TV Quiz show.
The competition is in two stages and two categories; Junior and senior secondary schools

Stage One: ONLINE QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

In this stage, the National Qualifying Examination has conducted across 34 states in Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory. Each school registers ten students with 250 centers nationwide. Students, five per category, take the exam, and the top 17 overall performers are selected as National Best in each category. Additionally, the highest-scoring student in each state becomes the State Representative. A total of 108 students (54 per category) qualify for the second stage of the competition.

Stage Two: TV Quiz Show

The TV leg of the competition brings together all 108 students in Lagos for a dynamic show, featuring three levels—Preliminary, Semis, and the Final. Each level comprises of two rounds, leading to Junior and Senior category winners. Additionally, winning students secure books, computers, and printers for their schools, along with cash prizes for their teachers. A special edition, the Teachers edition, showcases the math prowess of teachers from the six finalists in each category, determining the best mathematics teacher of the year.
