Synopsis

The top 27 teams are made up of schools qualifying from the National exams.
The TV quiz is made up of two rounds, the WordMould and the WordMate rounds.

The WordMould round requires formation of words or moulding of words using the letters of the alphabet, which the teams take turn to do. This Round has three stages; the Beginners (5- Alphabets), Intermediary (7- Alphabets) and Expert Stage (9- Alphabets). The team member with the word carrying the higest point is recorded for the team for each WordMould question. At the end of the 3 stages, the two teams with the highest point advances to the second round.

In the second round called the WordMate round-the two (2) teams remaining will take turns to give synonym answers to the words that would be revealed. There would be Three (3) set of words with points attached for each team. The two (2) teams would battle it out for the bragging right of Nigeria’s English Language Champions in this round.
Each team has three (3) attempts at giving the correct synonym to each word that would be displayed and if after the third attempt, the team gives an incorrect answer, the team loses the opportunity to forge ahead. A team cannot proceed to the next word if the team fails to give the right synonym to the word revealed. Each word carries a predefined number of points.
The team with the higher cumulative score from both rounds is adjudged the Winner and moves to the next stage.
