At the end of the 3 stages, the two teams with the highest point advances to the second round.
In the second round called the WordMate round-the two (2) teams remaining will take turns to give synonym answers to the words that would be revealed. There would be Three (3) set of words with points attached for each team. The two (2) teams would battle it out for the bragging right of Nigeria’s English Language Champions in this round.
Each team has three (3) attempts at giving the correct synonym to each word that would be displayed and if after the third attempt, the team gives an incorrect answer, the team loses the opportunity to forge ahead. A team cannot proceed to the next word if the team fails to give the right synonym to the word revealed. Each word carries a predefined number of points.
The team with the higher cumulative score from both rounds is adjudged the Winner and moves to the next stage.
