Emerald is a story based on the lives of the rich, middle class and the poor replicating the current scenarios prevalent in Africa and set to appeal to a wide range of viewers. This story is typically Nigerian with a mix of the rich, the poor and the middle class. The viewer will be inspired by the different characters as he/she identifies with them through their pains, suffering and joyful moments. The drama reiterates an age-long truth that there is no distinction between rich and poor; when it comes to emotions, we are equal.

Synopsis

Dapo a well-known architect who is estranged from his multi-millionaire father Alfred Duke the owner of a successful construction company has lived abroad for several years, Alfred dies under mysterious circumstances but even this is not enough to make Dapo come back home to Nigeria.

When he receives a frantic call from his mother to please come and stand by her because an investigation into his father’s death is about to be opened, he decides to take a short trip to Nigeria, but the trip is going to change his life forever.

Ada is a beautiful lady who has lived in abject poverty ever since her father Emeka Eze, lost his job as Alfred’s assistant after Alfred’s death. 

Ada and her father try to survive the hard times by making and selling buildings. Emeka Eze has in his possession a priceless emerald, given to him by Alfred for safekeeping but after several failed attempts to eke out a living, he decides to sell the emerald to alleviate their suffering, but just as he is about to sell it, he is brutally murdered.

Ada’s first meeting with Dapo kicks off on a very sad note. Though she is attracted to him, she wants nothing to do with him or his family because she blames them for her family’s misfortunes.  Dapo is also drawn to her, but unknown to them, they share a mutual pain – the same man murdered their fathers.

Victor, Alfred’s twin brother now heads the construction company, and will do everything in his power to destroy Dapo and anyone who gets in the way of his desire to hold on to the running of the company forever. 
As Dapo and Ada get closer, they realize that they share not only intense feelings, but a desire to uncover the truth and avenge the death of their fathers.

Emerald is full of intrigues, love, secrets and emotion.
