Synopsis
The competition is in two stages and two categories; Junior and senior secondary schools
Stage One:
This stage is the National Qualifying examination written across 33 states +FCT (34 states) in Nigeria. Ten student per school (5 per category) will be registered by the school online at www.cowbellpedia.ng with over 250 centers spread across the nation, these students will seat for the exam and 17 over all best will be picked as National best to qualify from each category while the top best in each state will be picked as state Representative per category. A total of 108 students will qualify for the second stage of the competition (54 student per category)
Stage Two:
The TV leg of the Competition where all the 108 students will gather in Lagos for the show. They will go through 3(three) Levels from Preliminary through Semis to the final. A level is made up of two rounds.
The winners in the Junior and senior categories win mouthwatering cash prizes and an educational holiday trip and the title next inventor for the year. They also win for their schools’ books, computers and printers and for their teachers mouthwatering cash prizes too.
There is also the special edition which is the Teachers edition where the teachers of the six finalists in each of the categories play in a math quiz competition to determines the best mathematics teacher for the year.
Format
The quiz is recorded in a world-class film studio, complete with ideal scenery sets, using audio and video equipment that rivals the best available quality, anywhere in the world. Shot in Full HD format (Sony HXC100), Cowbellpedia offer remarkably improved signal-noise ratios as opposed to comparable sensitivity films, thereby delivering a more pleasurable viewing experience.
